Back in the days of Livejournal I’d post a lot of photos from events, conventions, Q&As etc but since neither LJ nor Flickr aren’t what they used to be I miss having a home for them.
This event may have been a long time ago (September 2011) but I snapped some of my favourite ever photos here, including shots of legends such as Gary Oldman and the late John Hurt, and eventually some of these photos went on to be used on Wikipedia. A small achievement in the grand scheme but it makes me extremely happy to see one of my photos on a page related to one of my all time favourite actors. One of them also features on Benedict Cumberbatch‘s filmography page.

When I set up this blog I didn’t expect the posts to be quite so unreliably infrequent but I did want to use it to document some of my favourite events. So although this is reaching far into the back catalogue they’re some of my most precious shots from a great day in London seeing these talented people.

I didn’t get a ticket to this screening but I did see the film soon after – and got tickets to BAFTA’s Gary Oldman: A Life in Pictures (another red letter day). I’d read that Gary Oldman would be there and was hoping to see Mark Strong – but I had no idea Tom Hardy was going to show up. My day was made.

I remember it being a warm and calm day – not like other premieres I’ve been to which involved cold, cramped days in Leicester Square which took days to recover from – and it’s rare that I come away from an event like this pleased with the pictures I’ve taken. Here are some more from that day.

I might delve more into my old folders and see what’s worth posting…
